New research has been published (Importance of Aphasia Group Treatment) as to why group therapy is beneficial for an individual's progress towards their goals. Group therapy is a functional way of learning and practicing goals in a realistic setting with the support of others who are experiencing a similar challenges. It is important to get the one-on-one support you need to target goals specific to you; however, mastering and transferring your goals to the real world takes place when you practice what you have learned outside of one-on-one settings.
